Description:
Monitoring services in Azure were recently consolidated into Azure Monitor providing a full stack monitoring service. Azure Monitor isn't just for monitoring Azure services though. Now that it includes Log Analytics and Application Insights, you can collect data from agents, applications, and APIs, all into a common data platform with a powerful analytics engine. We'll have a look at the fundamental types of monitoring data used by Azure Monitor, the different ways we can populate that data, and the variety of methods to leverage them for analysis, alerting, and insights.

What you will learn:
  • The two fundamental data types in Azure Monitor and how each are used.
  • Methods for analyzing and alerting on the different types of Azure Monitor data.
  • Methods for collecting data into Azure Monitor including custom data using code.
